Job Description
The purpose of this job is to operate, maintain the hub machine and all equipment to produce a variety of tableware. The operator follows established specifications, procedures, and methods. This work includes such duties as:
*When HUB is pulled out for job change or Mold Shop work, the HUB operator will install Copus blowers Operates and inspects glass feeding, hub, and auxiliary equipment. Works with Maintenance Associates during setup, mechanical failure, and other adjustments. Assures availability of equipment specified on setup sheet or needed for proper operation. Maintains and adjusts variety of parts to equipment such as rollers, trimmer, dwell, anvils, fire polishers etc. Changes heads, greases, oils, and cleans various parts of the hub and auxiliary equipment as needed. Adjusts and maintains a variety of variables such as air, air pressure, water temperature, mold temperature, oil levels, Hub speed, etc. Trouble shoots process and equipment using specific department troubleshooting process. Inspects quality of ware and records data on the computer. Records specified information and data on S.O.S sheets once a shift or as necessary. Records and notifies the proper personnel of mechanical failure or any other difficulties, to eliminate excessive machine downtime.
May be called upon to perform a function that results in the generation of hazardous waste, and therefore may be required to attend relevant RCRA training.
*HUB Operators can stone molds on the fly, unless a HUB Operator is "uncomfortable" stoning molds on the fly, andthey have communicated this to Management.
