Maintenance Associate, Electrical
Description
Position Summary: The purpose of this job is to perform a very wide variety of maintenance tasks including but
not limited to electrical and maintenance work such as: installation, fabrication, assembly, set-up, diagnosis,
troubleshooting maintenance work on plant equipment, services and facilities requiring the use of hand and
maintenance tools and skills, works from blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Performs work on energized lines, circuits, and connections with a wide range of voltages including
100V, 220V AND 440V
· May work with voltages up to 12,500V at distribution transformers
· As necessary makes hot cutovers
· Operates a wide variety of equipment such as: various saws, pipe threaders, drills, gauges, meters,
feelers, voltmeters, o-scopes, other electrical diagnostic equipment, micrometers, industrial fork
trucks, hand trucks, machine tools, welding equipment, carts, ladders, lifts, etc.
· Provides cross-training for other skills
· May be a member of a work group (team) that utilizes some business skills such as: writing and
entering work orders, time distribution, quotes and estimates, use of computers in performance of
duties, etc.
· Works independently, coordinates PMs, rebuilds, shutdowns, tasks and other employees as
required
· Displays innovativeness when dealing with complex problems, trains other in maintenance
techniques designed for sensitive processes
· Works as a member of a team
· Writes process documentation
· Prepares maintenance projects and layouts
· Interfaces with customers, vendors, and suppliers
· Responsible for the quality of work, timeliness, work methods, practices, etc.
Required Qualifications:
· GED or High School Diploma
· 2 year Electrical Technician / Electrician degree preferred
· General understanding of electrical theory and best practices
· Effort equivalent to handling 16-50 lbs., works overhead in tiring awkward positions, performs bench work
repairing instruments and motors, etc.
· Repairs machinery including troubleshooting live circuitry
· Hot Environment
· Equipment used/mental exertion with computers
